When Adam Goldstein was a student at MIT, he was responsible for booking all worldwide travel for the debate team.

It sucked.

The idea of finding (let alone booking) the right flight, at the right price, for every person was agonizing. Travel sites, like airlines themselves, can overwhelm the average user with choice, thin margins, and unnecessary add-ons.

For Goldstein, it was easier to memorize each and every airport code, from ACH to ZKG. That method was working out for his whiz kid brain, but there had to be a better way to book flights for frequent travelers.
